What is the Skilled Independent Visa?
The Skilled Independent Visa is a permanent residency visa for highly skilled individuals looking to relocate to Australia.
Do you have a skill that is in short supply? Is your occupation in high demand in the Australian job market?
Although sponsorship is not required, you must be able to demonstrate that you possess the qualifications and skills listed in the Skilled Occupations List (SOL).
To be eligible for the Australian Skilled Independent Visa, you must first pass a points test with a minimum score of 60 points. You can collect points for employment in your nominated occupation gained over the past 10 years in either Australia or overseas. You can also claim points for a competent English level in International English Language Testing. You must also be under 50 years of age, have good health and meet the character requirements for Australian Visas.
